Pickup trucks for sale have been doing the rounds for a long time now. These trucks were not so popular, some time back. But in the recent time, these pickup trucks are used extensively for various purposes. In the pickup segment, the diesel pickup truck is the most popular.
Diesel pickup trucks are primarily used for carrying or towing away heavy loads. These trucks best fit the bill of medium duty segment in the commercial arena. There are several companies manufacturing these diesel trucks. Some of the best-known names in the business include Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Harley Davidson, Toyota, and Nissan.
Mileage is one of the biggest advantages of these diesel pickups. They offer great mpg both on the highway and the city. This is one of the prime reasons why many truck owners prefer diesel pickup trucks. And with the steep increase in fuel prices, this factor has gained even more importance.
The exteriors of these trucks are equally good looking. They are designed to give the vehicle an overall sporty look. They can also accommodate several accessories because of their design. Available in both small and standard sizes the user always ahs a choice.
The general perception of a truck is that of a rugged and sturdy vehicle. But despite being sturdy enough on the outside, these trucks offer gentle exteriors. Bearing the comfort factor in mind, they are designed in an absolutely passenger friendly manner. So even if you are traversing the most uneven terrains, you won’t have a hard time.
One of the most common reasons for people avoiding traveling in these is the noise they have to bear. But with these vehicles being updated with the latest technology, that is also no longer an issue. Contemporary diesel pickup trucks feature windows made of thick glass and double layer sealed doors to cut the noise levels. To further make the journey a silent one, an exhaust system with low restriction and an intake resonator is also used.
These trucks score high on not just the comfort but the power quotient too. A multiple valve diesel engine enable them to deliver maximum power which is as high as 300 horsepower and can go even above that. They offer you a consistent transmission quality at various altitudes, courtesy- an advanced throttle control system. Convenience personified is what you get with these diesel pickup trucks.
Other notable features of diesel pickup trucks include a standard four-wheel disk brake and an anti lock braking system (ABS). This provides an excellent braking system to the truck both on road and dirt tracks. A diesel pickup truck also has an electronic brake force distribution. This brake force distribution reduces braking distances, and also supplements the braking of the rear wheel.
Hino, Isuzu Manufacturing Operations to be Combined
Toyota is discussing options on how to possibly combine manufacturing operations in North America of Hino Motors Ltd. and Isuzu Motors Ltd. It is not yet clear whether the discussion will lead to the merging of the two truck manufacturers but according to statement released by Toyota executives in separate interviews, the Japanese automaker would like to create synergies between the two commercial truck producers. In short, combine manufacturing operations of the two truck companies in terms of building big medium and heavy duty trucks and afterwards developed a demand for them.
At present Hino has two manufacturing sites in North America, one located in Long Beach, California while the other one is in Woodstock, Ontario—combined these two sites produced 10,000 trucks for sale per year.
The company has announced its plan of building a plant in Williamstown, W. Va., which would produce medium and heavy-duty trucks with an annual growth of 2,500 vehicles.
Isuzu is exporting big inter-city delivery trucks from Japan to North America. However, Toyota thinks that its more efficient to produce these trucks locally in North America especially once sale starts to grow.
Toyota executives believe that the separate manufacturing operations of both Isuzu and Hino in North America are risky and redundant. Toyota owns 50 percent stake in Hino and about 5.9 percent equity stake in Isuzu.
Currently Isuzu and Toyota, the maker of Toyota strut bellows are studying ways on how they would develop and produce small advanced clean diesel engines for both passenger cars and light-duty trucks.
Toyota has not yet reached that point but pointed out that such discussions would follow after Toyota and Isuzu know they would collaborate with regards to the advanced diesel engine technology.
Toyota Seals Gap With Gm
The Toyota Motor Corp. built more than 9 million vehicles for the first time. The production narrowed the gap with General Motors Corp. which has 160,000 more. This has tickled speculations among auto enthusiasts. Some are anticipating for a new auto giant reign while others detest its happening.
Toyota reported that its production output increased by 9.5 per cent despite a contraction in the Japanese market. The automaker’s production includes Toyota’s affiliates - Daihatsu and Hino. On the other hand, GM also reported 9.18 million vehicle productions. This figure was a slight increase. As such, many analysts in the industry are expecting that GM will fall a notch lower to make way for Toyota as the new automotive leader around the globe.
The automaker also expects to sell 2.68 million vehicles in the United States alone to raise its sales by 6 per cent. Things are going very well with Toyota, and it’s likely to achieve its target for this year.
Honda, another fast-rising Japanese automaker, has reported an increase of 6.6 per cent in global output to 3.63 million vehicles. Nissan, on the other hand, overtook Honda when the production of the latter declined by 7.7 per cent to 3.24 million vehicles.
Honda, though, is coping from its previous losses because of the brisk sales of its Civic compact in the United States and Chinas. The strong demand in overseas markets is the primary reason why Japanese automakers are creating big waves in the auto industry realm. As a fact, these automakers are struggling in their home market.
Cars and trucks sales in China increased to 7.2 million vehicles while in Japan, vehicle sales shrank to 5.7 million. In Japan, the real growth segment is mini-vehicles that weigh half as much as traditional cars. However, when mini-vehicles are to be excluded, Japan’s market totaled 3.7 million units. Its believed earnings will remain structurally dependent on overseas sales growth.
GMC is so far the largest manufacturer around the globe. The corporation is founded in 1908. Today, it has about 327,000 workers globally. The automaker’s cars and trucks are sold in 33 countries.
Toyota, on the other hand, is so far world’s second largest automaker. The automaker has also established a good reputation in the truck manufacturers. In addition, it is sending more positive vibes in the auto industry than other automakers these days. To gauge its prowess, the corporation is also the world’s eighth largest company by revenue. With the growing vehicle demands around the globe and with the rising excellence in the field, Toyota is expected to rule auto industry.
Hino, Isuzu Manufacturing Operations
Toyota is discussing options on how to possibly combine manufacturing operations in North America of Hino Motors Ltd. and Isuzu Motors Ltd. Hino will try to sell 10,000 trucks in North America, which is more than the 6,200 obtained by the company last year. Meanwhile Isuzu is exporting big inter-city delivery trucks from Japan to North America. However, Toyota thinks that its more efficient to produce these trucks locally in North America especially once sale starts to grow. According to the spokesman of Isuzu that the company is trying to reach sales level of about 50,000 vehicles a year more than the current annual sales pace which are a little less than 30,000.
Isuzu and Toyota, the maker of Toyota strut bellows are studying ways on how they would develop and produce small advanced clean diesel engines for both passenger cars and light-duty trucks.
